An Integrative Approach to Orientation

In 2007, the Schreyer Honors College implemented a new three-day orientation that includes all incoming freshmen and new upperclass Scholars.  Nearly 600 students participate in the programs and events that are scheduled to meet various goals while building community and identity as Schreyer Scholars.

More than 100 current Scholars participate as orientation mentors, and close to 50 faculty lead students in roundtable discussions addressing ethical concerns in their respective fields.

As a Scholar in the Schreyer Honors College, you will enjoy the benefits of a prestigious honors college and the excitement of a large research university.  These benefits include small class sizes with excellent professors, exciting research and internship opportunities, and travel abroad. By participating in SHO TIME, you'll learn how to take advantage of these opportunities to make the most of your years at Penn State as a Schreyer Scholar.
