Honors College's Scholar Advancement Team Debuts
Eighteen Schreyer Scholars have been selected to serve on the Schreyer Honors College's inaugural Scholar Advancement Team during the 2008-09 academic year.
The Scholar Advancement Team, or SAT, will represent the college at events and visits designed for returning alumni and donors.
"This group will showcase to our alumni and friends the breadth of the Scholar experience realized in the Schreyer Honors College," said Dr. Christian M. M. Brady, the college's dean. "Representing a variety of academic disciplines, these Scholars will welcome our guests and help them reconnect with the college when they return to campus."
The SAT will be tapped to give tours and provide student perspective at such events as the Scholar Alumni Reunion during Blue-White Weekend each spring, the college's annual Outstanding Scholar Alumni and Faculty Awards Ceremony each fall, lectures featuring pre-eminent speaks sponsored by the college twice a year, and other functions.
To be selected for the SAT, Scholars submitted an application and were interviewed by members of the Schreyer Honors College administrative team.
