Outstanding Scholar Alumni call for nominations

University Park, PA - The Schreyer Honors College is now accepting nominations for the 2010 Outstanding Scholar Alumni Awards. The award, sponsored by the Scholar Alumni Society, is presented to graduates of Penn State’s University Scholars Program or the Schreyer Honors College who have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills, professional achievement, and a passion for life-long learning. Nominees’ achievements should reflect the Schreyer Honors College’s mission of achieving academic excellence with integrity, building a global perspective, and creating opportunities for civic engagement and leadership.
Past recipients include:
- Kelly Ayotte ’90 Lib, former Attorney General for the state of New Hampshire;
- Doug Evans '86 Eng, COO, Kensey Nash Corp.;
- Kevin Frick ’91, H&HD, associate professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health;
- Ann Hsu '89 Eng, CEO, RivalWatch, Shanghai LTD;
- Stephanie Hulina '92 Lib, founder and president of GDA Corp.;
- Mary Beth Long '85 Com, former assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs with the U.S. Department of Defense;
- Richard Spontak '83 Eng, a chemical and bioengineering professor at North Carolina State University; and
- John Woerner '91 Bus, president of insurance and chief strategy officer for Ameriprise Financial.
