Financial need affects students across Penn State including Schreyer Scholars. Although the University is able to offset some of the costs, many times loans become the only available options for students to remain in school.
However, when unforeseen costs arise, loans do not guarantee coverage for the basic costs of college- tuition, book and room and board. The Emergency Grants Campaign for Scholars is the safety net that keeps students enrolled when they think they are out of options.
Watch the video below to see what an impact these grants can have in the lives of Scholars:
Private gifts like yours can make a difference for a student struggling to stay in school:

Covers one-eighth of a semester of in-state tuition for upperclass students
"I'm an out of state student so I can say with 100% certainty that without Schreyer I would not be at Penn State right now."- Tori Bertocci Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
