Scholar Assistants (SAs)
Welcome from your Scholar Assistants (SAs)! We are SHC students living in the honors residence halls that are here to foster a sense of community among Schreyer Scholars. In doing so, we can help you identify academic advising resources, answer questions about your class schedule, organize special activities for Schreyer Scholars, and most importantly, make you aware of a wide range of benefits afforded to Scholars. You can also look forward to:
- Diverse out-of-classroom activities
- Fun and relaxing social programs
- Interactive panel discussions with faculty and Scholar alumni
We look forward to getting to know you and seeing you at Schreyer Honors College programs and events. Please feel free to stop by Atherton or Simmons Halls to say hello or send us an e-mail. We'd love to hear from you!
In order to make ourselves more available to you as resources, we're holding informal office hours on Wednesdays from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in Atherton Hall and Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Simmons Hall. Come get to know us, ask questions about the SHC and provide ideas or feedback on student programming in the Honors community.
Cory Steinle Communication Arts and Sciences Labor and Employment Relations
Bonjour, les scholaires de Schreyer! My name is Cory Steinle and I’m incredibly humbled to be able to serve as one of your Scholar Assistants this year. I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and am double-majoring in Communication Arts and Sciences and Labor and Employment Relations. I’ve found that one of the best ways to make the most of your college experience is to get involved in clubs and organizations. That’s why I started my own organization, F.O.R.M. (Future Opportunities Reached by Mentorship) Consulting, so that I could pursue my co-curricular interests while simultaneously applying lessons from the classroom. Aside from that, I am involved with the College Independents, Penn State Mock Trial, the State of State conference, and THON. In my free time, I enjoy eating at the many restaurants downtown, traveling to golf at different courses, and listening to hip-hop music.
As a Scholar Assistant, I am committed to serving your interests and fostering an inclusive community. The Schreyer Honors College has provided so many opportunities for me, just as it will for you. I want to get to know you! If you’re feeling overwhelmed and need a study buddy, you can always find me studying in the GLOBE or the Grandfather Clock Lounge. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org at any time to chat about the your experience with the Honors College, any concerns you may have, or why Kanye West is a modern-day Shakespeare.
Alexandra Kohr History
Hello fellow Schreyer Scholars! My name is Alexandra Kohr and I am extremely excited to be serving as one of your Scholar Assistants this year. I’m from Williamstown, PA in Dauphin County and am currently a sophomore working towards a degree in History with hopes of pursuing a secondary major in Hospitality Management.
I enjoy taking part in all the wonderful organizations and events Penn State and Schreyer have to offer. This includes various cultural and extracurricular events that occur throughout the school year, giving me a chance to meet new people and broaden my knowledge of diversity. As a freshman, I was part of the Leadership Jumpstart class. I was also involved in the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) where I worked as a Freshman Council member to strengthen Penn State’s community. In addition to this,I also enjoy traveling, baking, and watching free movies at the HUB.
This year, as a Scholar Assistant, my goal is to help all Scholars succeed in their everyday lives. I know how much Penn State and the Schreyer Honors College has helped me this past year and how much help they are to all students at Penn State. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or just want to chat feel free to contact me at email@example.com.

I am from Wappingers Falls, NY and am a junior currently working toward a Finance degree through the Smeal College of Business as well as pursuing a Supply Chain Information Sciences and Technology minor.
I enjoy immersing myself in various activities and organizations to fulfill all of my interests, expand my knowledge and experiences, and meet new people.
During my freshman year I served on a THON Operations Committee, and continue to be involved with THON through my sorority, Alpha Xi Delta. One of my primary focuses lies within Scholars Helping Scholars, where I serve as a trained helper to scholars in need of someone to talk to. I also love attending PSU fitness classes and concerts of all the wonderful artists and bands that travel to campus, feel free to join!
My college experience would not be nearly as amazing as it has been thus far without the Schreyer Honors College community. The SHC has been such a motivating and supportive network and I strive to maintain those aspects for all of you. Please feel free to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, for anything at all! I am a very friendly person that is always here as someone to talk to and am committed to making all of your experiences within the SHC the best they can be!
Sydney Montgomery Chemistry
Hello Schreyer Scholars! My name is Sydney Montgomery, and I am ecstatic to be your Career Development Scholar Assistant for the year. I'm originally from El Paso, Texas, but currently reside in Fairfax, Virginia. I am also majoring in Chemistry within the Eberly College of Science.
In addition to being a Scholar Assistant, I am active in Schreyer Student Counil, Science LionPride, and undergraduate research.
