Penn State Cooking Classic Season 2: "A Little Something on the Side"
- Wednesday, February 2, 2022
- 7:00 PM- 8:00 PM
- Zoom
Back for Season 2 is the Penn State Cooking Classic, a collaborative four-week cooking event brought to you by Penn State Colleges and Campuses Alumni Societies, a proud partner of the Penn State Alumni Association. This year, join us Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for hour-long Southern cuisine recipes and thematic nightcaps during Cocktail Corner, as we tap into the talents across our Penn State community.
The Cooking Classic is an event series in support of Lions Pantries across the Commonwealth. Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to make a gift in support of students facing food insecurity across Penn State. We hope that you will consider paying it forward to support Penn State students in need during an unprecedented time. Every $5 gift provides 20 or more meals—or may be used to help stock pantries with other basic need items like toiletries and paper products.
On Wednesday, February 2, “A Little Something on the Side,” will bring Southern appetizers to life. Alex Goodstein ’09 (IST), who is also known as food blogger @alexeatstoomuch, will walk us through the classic side dishes of collard greens and deviled eggs that will pair egg-cellently with any good Southern meal. Winn Allen '16 (Schuylkill), manager Brick House Grill, will mix up a cocktail for this evening’s Cocktail Corner.
Thank you to our collaborators: College of Agricultural Sciences, College of Arts & Architecture, College of Education, College of Information Sciences and Technology, Penn State Abington, Penn State Altoona, Penn State Behrend, Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State Schuylkill, Penn State World Campus, Schreyer Honors College, and Smeal College of Business. These events are open to all Penn State alumni and friends through a partnership with the Penn State Alumni Association.
