Schreyer Honors College, in collaboration with Penn State’s Undergraduate Admissions Office, offers multiple options to visit. From day-long visits and self-guided tours to individual meetings and virtual information sessions, we have something to fit your need and your schedule.

Plan Your Schreyer Visit
Deciding where to go to college is a big decision. One of the best ways to determine if Schreyer Honors College the right fit for you is to visit. We encourage you to combine your Schreyer visit with a Penn State visit or a program with your intended academic college to understand the full student experience.
Schreyer Scholars can start any Penn State undergraduate campus. Each campus has a different feel and different offerings—such as honors housing, research, or athletic programs. If you are considering a campus other than University park, consider visiting a few to decide which is right for you.
Scholars Day
This half-day event at University Park includes a presentation about the college, a current student panel, an academic college fair, and tours of campus and honors housing.

Information Sessions
During these hour-long sessions, you’ll hear from Schreyer staff and current students. You’ll learn about the benefits of honors at Penn State, the application process, student life, and more. We have virtual and In-person options.
Spend a Summer Day
A Penn State-wide event where students can preview student life and academic programs. While Scholars can attend any Penn State undergraduate campus, select University Park when registering to attend a Schreyer Honors College session.

Scholar Ambassadors
Scholar Ambassadors are current students who represent the college during admissions events. They provide tours of campus and honors housing, meet with visiting families, and share their experiences as Schreyer Scholars.
Ambassadors are also a resource for prospective and incoming students. You can reach out to them directly to ask questions about Schreyer Honors College or the student experience.
Location & Parking
The Schreyer Honors College admissions office is located in Atherton Hall on the University Park campus.
Parking
The visitor parking option closest to Atherton Hall is the HUB Parking Deck, located along Shortlidge Road about a block away. Parking at the HUB Parking Deck is charged by the hour. If you schedule a visit in advance, you will receive a parking pass for Jordan East, Porter North or Stadium West.Downtown State College offers a variety of paid parking options, including garages, lots and metered street parking.
Getting Around Campus
CATA Bus
CATA Bus provides free service on campus. We recommend the Blue Loop, which stops in front of Atherton Hall on College Avenue and includes stops at Shields Building (home of Penn State Undergraduate Admissions) and near the Bryce Jordan Center (where visitor parking is abundant).
Campus Shuttle
The Campus Shuttle provides no-fare transportation across campus every 15 minutes on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Taxis & Ride Sharing
The State College area features a variety of taxi companies, a pedicab company, and ride sharing with Uber and Lyft.
