Careers in Diplomacy

  • Date 04/10/18
  • Time 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Location 158 Willard Building

Few employers will pay you to live and work abroad, but the U.S. Department of State is one of them.  We hire Americans over the age of 20 from all walks of life and backgrounds.  If you are attracted to public service and want to live abroad, come hear more about this unique lifestyle from career diplomat Usha Pitts.

Ms. Pitts will give you tips on preparing for an international career and taking the Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT). If you speak intermediate/advanced Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or Mandarin, you can also work abroad by joining the Consular Fellows Program. If you are interested in criminal justice or law enforcement, you can apply to become a special agent with the Diplomatic Security Service.
