DHFP: Intergenerational Strategies for Promoting Health and Wellness

  • Wednesday, March 17, 2021
  • 5:30 PM- 7:00 PM
  • Zoom link will be provided

This interactive presentation examines intergenerational programs and practices for promoting health and wellness across the lifespan. We will explore intergenerational strategies for supporting families with caregiving challenges, promoting healthy eating and active living, reducing social isolation and loneliness, etc. In small or large groups, participants will choose one or more health-related problems or challenges and craft intervention strategies. In the process, participants will receive hands-on practice in applying principles for effective intergenerational programming. In lieu of a catered dinner, students who attend and participate in the entire event will receive a gift card to purchase a meal after the event (must attend the entire event).

I have two older brothers who graduated from the Honors College, and I was able to see them go through their college experience and all the opportunities they had. I visited them a few times in Atherton Hall, which made me fall in love with the College. I saw this as a place where I can find great opportunities and do some really great things.
