Spring 2021 Medals Ceremony
- Thursday, May 6, 2021
- 7:00 PM- 8:30 PM
After a thorough and comprehensive search to identify an on-campus venue to accommodate the 2021 Schreyer Honors College Spring Medals Ceremony, the College has decided to hold a virtual ceremony for graduating Scholars. Unfortunately, the logistical challenges required to deliver an on-campus celebration and ceremony for Scholars and guests were insurmountable given the protocols required to protect the health and safety of Scholars, guests, and employees in attendance within the allotted time frame.
The Spring Medals Ceremony will be delivered in a virtual format at shc.psu.edu and will remain on the College’s website for those who wish to view it at a later date.
The College recognizes that this decision may be disappointing, but options are available for graduating seniors to receive their Scholars Medal prior to Penn State’s commencement ceremonies.
To acknowledge the completion of the thesis, a tradition known as Thesis Days, where Scholars submit their theses and ring a gong (another time-honored tradition) the College will host a “Senior Scholar Celebration” on April 19-21. This three-day event, open to Scholars only, will deploy all the COVID-19 measures and protocols for safety and security required by Penn State, including masks, physical distancing, and room capacity restrictions.
