Many of the programs sponsored by the Honors College take place in Atherton or Simmons.

Community Builders Scholar Assistants

Scholar Assistants are upperclass Scholars living in the honors residence halls who are here to foster a sense of community among our students. They can help you identify academic advising resources, answer questions about your class schedule, and, most importantly, make you aware of a wide range of benefits afforded to Scholars. They also help to organize diverse out-of-classroom activities, fun and relaxing social programs, and interactive panel discussions with faculty and Scholar alumni.

Two summers ago I went to China, visiting many places like Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and many more, to study the culture and architecture of that region. It was a great experience seeing how their architecture differs from ours and how the cultural and political differences play a part in that. I also had the opportunity to row for Penn State on the Crew team for the past three years and even got to represent PSU at The Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston twice. This past summer I got to intern at Jacobs doing structural design work on a range of projects, including working on projects for the Navy and BWI airport. Lastly, I am a huge dog fan and will lose total focus whenever I spot a dog walking past.

As part of this lab, I have traveled to Fort Myers, Florida to conduct field research, presented my research at the United Nations Headquarters, and conducted full-time research over the summer. Additionally, I am the stringer for the Penn State Division I men's and women's tennis teams, through which I have the opportunity to interact with students, student athletes, and community members that come together to share their love for tennis. I also served as a co-chair for the Scholar Ambassadors last year. Last summer, I interned with Serán Bioscience, a pharmaceutical startup, in Bend, Oregon. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, watching Eagles football, golfing, and traveling with family and friends.
