Many of the programs sponsored by the Honors College take place in Atherton or Simmons.

Community Builders Scholar Assistants

Scholar Assistants are upperclass Scholars living in the honors residence halls who are here to foster a sense of community among our students. They can help you identify academic advising resources, answer questions about your class schedule, and, most importantly, make you aware of a wide range of benefits afforded to Scholars. They also help to organize diverse out-of-classroom activities, fun and relaxing social programs, and interactive panel discussions with faculty and Scholar alumni.

Alexa Clayton headshot
Alexa Clayton Political Science / Philosophy Fort Lauderdale, FL

Hello Schreyer Scholars! My name is Alexa Clayton, and it is a pleasure to serve as Scholar Assistant this year! I am a third-year student from Fort Lauderdale, FL and my majors are Political Science and Philosophy.

My first year at Penn State was a time in which I used to explore my interests. I became involved with the University Park Allocation Committee (UPAC) to increase my interest in learning about the out of class experience. Moreover, UPAC made me feel more interconnected to life at University Park. My internship with my state’s elections office increased my passion for politics and interpersonal communication. This past summer, I was an Orientation Leader for New Student Orientation (NSO). Being an Orientation Leader has taught me the importance of being a resource to my fellow students.

Schreyer is an academic and social community. This year, I want to build connections with you and help you make the most out of the resources within the college. I am so excited to meet you all, so feel free to reach out to me at asc5625@psu.edu or stop by my room to say a quick hello.
