Deadline 4: Final Submission

Congratulations, you are nearing the end of your thesis journey. This page outlines all of the information you need to successfully submit and publish your thesis. To review thesis submission deadlines, visit the academic deadlines page.

Please note that this page outlines Schreyer’s submission process. Your thesis committee may ask that you submit a draft thesis to them for review before the final electronic submission.

Submit your thesis to the Electronic Honors Thesis (eHT) website. You can also access this page via the Schreyer Student Record System (SRS) by clicking Thesis Final Submission. Your thesis is published via the electronic file (eHT) housed with the University Libraries. Scholars may produce hard copies for their academic department or for personal use.

Preparing Your Submission

To submit your final thesis:

  • Maintain the formatting from your format review submission. Continue using our provided template and formatting instructions to ensure you set up your document correctly.

  • Make sure your thesis is submitted in PDF format.

  • Upload your final thesis on the eHT website.

  • Upload any supplemental multimedia items as separate files.

Video, Audio, or Large Image Files

If your thesis is composed of content other than text, upload the text portion of your thesis first as a PDF file. Then, upload other files separately. If most of your thesis work is a multimedia presentation, you are required to upload these files in addition to your PDF.

Acceptable file formats:

  • Video

Apple QuickTime (.mov), MPEG (.mpg), Microsoft Audio Video Interleaved (.avi)

  • Audio

MIDI with timing information (.midi), MPEG (.mpg), WAV (.wav)

  • Images

PDF (.pdf), JPEG (.jpg), TIFF (.tif)

Do not upload ZIP files. Keep individual file sizes for the supplementary material under 50 MB where possible. Large files will upload but take a long time to download for future use.

Access Levels for Honors Thesis

When submitting your thesis, you will select the level of access. Open access is the default.

Final Approval

After you submit your thesis electronically, your thesis committee is notified and reviews your submission. If it is rejected, you must revise and resubmit until it’s approved. After your committee approves your electronic thesis submission, Schreyer reviews it. This is the last approval and typically the easiest. After Schreyer’s approval, the author and all committee members will be notified via email. Your thesis will be accessible on the eHT website within a month after graduation unless you have specified restricted access.

Deferring Graduation for Thesis Completion

If you are unable to meet your final thesis submission deadline, your options are to graduate without honors or defer graduation until the next semester (including summer). You should plan carefully with your thesis supervisor and thesis honors adviser when deciding.
