What happens when a great idea leaves your notebook, lab bench, or laptop and enters the world? Join fellow Scholars for dinner and conversation as we explore the surprisingly personal and practical questions behind intellectual property (IP). We'll unpack the different forms of IP and connect them to ideas and experiences you may already have posted artwork online, contributing to open-source projects, conducting lab research, or creating a logo for a student organization. Together, we'll discuss when protecting an idea makes sense, when sharing it openly can create greater impact, and how IP decisions shape collaboration, publication, and future opportunities.
Bring your curiosity and join Patent and Trademark Librarian Denise A. Wetzel for a dinner conversation about navigating the ways ownership, access, and innovation intersect in your academic and personal life.
Persons with disabilities who anticipate needing accommodations or who have questions about physical access may contact Rhonda R. Demchak at rrr11@psu.edu in advance of the program.
